Hey there. Wondering how to lose weight? Are you frustrated because you have failed way too many times to keep off that excess weight? I feel you, been there done that. I know it seems impossible at the moment, but let me assure you there is always the light and the end of the tunnel.
How to lose weight?
First of all, let me clear off your mindset. DO not worry about what others think of you. You are complete as you are, and everything that you have done led you to this article.
No matter what is your past, what are your compulsions, you are doing your first step to a better, healthier way of living.
As a matter of fact, everything starts with your mind. IF you believe in yourself, visualize yourself the way you want to be, sooner or later, you will get there. The first exercise should always start with your thoughts and mindfulness.
- If you have a hard time walking, visualize yourself walking again.
- If you had a big injury, visualize how agile and strong you were.
- If you have a hard time socializing, visualize yourself going out again with your friends and family.
- If you are depressed and out of focus, visualize yourself happy and energized.
- If you have a hard time losing weight, visualize yourself lean and strong.
…I think you got the point here. You see if you don’t believe you can make it, you won’t.
Eventually, you cave in and start binging on compulsions, may that be food, drugs, or sexuality, does not matter.
So start practicing visualization at least once a day. Where do you want to be? How you want your body to feel, look, express. What friends do you want to have, what job you want to work in, and what partner you are looking for? Everything matters. Surround yourself with people who support you on your journey.
Weight loss ≠ fat loss
A lot of guys/girls are wondering how to lose weight as it is, but as a matter of fact, we don’t want to lose weight.
We want to lose excess weight, in other words, excess fat. Weight can be water, muscle, or fat. And in short-term dieting, we think we have lost a lot of fat, but most of the time it is only water and muscle.
Do not think losing fat is a fast ride. It is a marathon, this is why I emphasize your mindset. This way you can change your lifestyle to something better than before and you won’t even feel you are dieting.
Calories in Calories out
If you drop your calories too low, you will see a lot of weight loss, but that means also losing muscle. Why do we want to preserve muscle weight? Because it is a big industry of burning calories in idle. You’re BMR is a lot higher when you have more muscle. That means you burn more calories at rest. So doing some kind of resistant exercises for stimulating muscle growth is a BIG plus to reaching fat loss.

IT works as long as you are healthy. You can lose weight on Mcdonald and smurf food but you won’t be happy. Been there and let me tell you I was grumpy as hell. I counted every single macro from big macs and fries and ate cookies and milk in the evenings. I was shredded sure, but I was also fasting 18 hours per day, miserable waiting for that sugar rush which was not healthy at all.
Try to focus on whole-grain foods, rich in vitamins and minerals, good quality protein sources, and healthy fats. This is why you will have more energy, better skin, and clarity of mind.
How to eat food
You read that right. How to eat food? Just open your mouth and dive in right? eh
Try to enjoy food by eating. No computer, no phone, no TV, and no distractions. Oh and… do not walk while you eat. You don’t appreciate the food you’re receiving. At the end of the day, if I ask you what have you eaten, you should be able to answer that question. If you’re nibbling and walking constantly, there is one big mess in your stomach.
Stop for a moment and be grateful you have food on your plate. As cliche as it sounds, breathe before you eat. This way you can practice your consciousness.
How often to eat
Try spacing your meals to breakfast, lunch, and dinner. This way you will have discipline and won’t focus on food constantly. If you eat nonstop, your stomach is producing way to much acid, which can result in acid reflux.
Drink more water
How to lose weight with water? A lot of time we are just thirsty, not hungry.
Avoid sugary drinks and beverages.
Go for a walk
It is a most relaxing way of cardio. Try at least 30 minutes a day. If you have trouble walking, resort to swimming or cycling.
Try out meditation
Start visualizing yourself on losing excess weight. Appreciate the food but don’t cave in to it. It’s only energy for you to sustain. Exercise regularly and do small walks every day. Drink more water and focus on vitamin-packed foods.
